Mechanic’s Responds® has been made aware of the following online post made, apparently, by Mrs. Kelli Crowe:
http://www.kudzu.com/profileReviews.do?A=1524780
Mechanic’s Responds® wants the public to be informed of Mechanic's Heating & Air Conditioning, LLC's, called "Mechanic's" herein, position in this matter.
First, Kudzu.com does not offer a platform for a company to respond to postings. This is a change from Kudzu's past policies. Now, to make a post response, Kudzu.com requires companies to "pay a fee" in order to respond. Additionally, Kudzu.com does not have any mechanisms in place to even verify if a post is from an actual customer versus a competitor or a complete fabrication.
Mechanic's told Kudzu.com the following way back on June 16, 2008:
As of June 16, 2008, Mechanic's will no longer respond to postings made on this web site. We value our relationship with Kudzu and we have had an almost perfect rating for years. However, recently, many of our competitors have been filing for bankruptcy and struggling to get customers. We, on the other hand have increased our list of satisfied customers. To see photos and handwritten letters from our real customers, simply copy the following link into your browser to see what our many happy customers have to say about our services on our website at www.MechanicsAir.com and then pasting into your browser, the following link: http://www.airconditioningatlanta.com/Mechanics_Customer_Compliments.htm Recently, competitors have been creating fraudulent postings on Kudzu posing as customers. One even admitted being a competitor on the posting. It takes us a large amount of time going through our hundreds of customers each week to see if this is a real customer or not. Usually, it is not. Of course our competitors have lots of time. Because we are providing fast service and professional help, we simply do not have time to respond to these unverified postings. Kudzu has done of good job of taking most of them off. Unfortunately, they can't get them all and may be inadvertently taking good posts off from our real customers as we have found some missing. All of our real customers know how easy it is to lodge a complaint or discuss an issue with out firm. We even provide an easy way for anyone to provide feedback by using MechanicsCares@MechanicsAir.com for immediate resolution. As a matter of Company policy, we do not comment on tabloid news stories. In relation to the BBB, our "satisfactory record" with the BBB was changed in June 2007 when we rejected the BBB's offer to join which would have cost us money.
Mechanic’s Responds® News sources believe the post shown above is indeed from Mrs. Kelli Crowe. Mechanic's is not the kind of company to just "take it" and not respond. Mechanic's will just have to "Eat Crowe" in this case.
Mechanic’s Responds® believes ALL of the facts of this matter need to be brought out. Mechanic’s Responds® has found this posting to be a retaliatory and unfounded complaint posted by Kelli Crowe. Mrs. Kelli Crowe has threatened Mechanic's by saying - "I will be happy take every opportunity to discourage my friends and neighbors both verbally and on line in the future from using your services". Unbelievably, Mrs. Crowe is trying to damage the good name and reputation of Mechanic's for the sum she was charged for the service call visit to her home: $29.95! This clearly shows what kind of person Mrs. Crowe is.
Mrs. Kelli Crowe called Mechanic's out to look at her broken heating unit. Here is the email that came in from the Mechanic's Call Center Department:

--------------------------------------
Mechanic's service technician did come out as requested on Monday October 26, 2009. When the Mechanic's technician showed up, Mr. John Crowe signed the Mechanic's invoice number 91055 agreeing to the Mechanic's Terms and Conditions of Service Agreement. After signing line number one of the Mechanic's invoice, the technician performed a diagnostic check of John & Kelli Crowe's heating unit.
Remarkably, it turned out that Mr. Crowe had already taken the igniter out of their own furnace! The Crowes turned out to be "Do it Yourselfer" customers. Mechanic's does not want to work with this type of customer. Mrs. Crowe's posting is proof of Mechanic's good decision not to work with "Do it Yourselfer" customers. Mechanic's own contract with the Crowes says the following in relation to "Do it Yourselfer" customers:
ADDITIONAL TERMS OF SERVICE FOR “DO IT
YOURSELFER CUSTOMERS
You understand and agree that Mechanic’s is not the
company to use if you are what we call a “Do It Yourselfer”. It has been our
experience that we normally do NOT have a fruitful outcome on services or
repairs we perform for “Do It Yourselfer” customers. You agree Mechanic’s, in
its sole discretion, determines who is a “Do It Yourselfer” customer. You agree
there is no warranty on any services or repairs we perform for “Do It
Yourselfer” customers, as solely determined by Mechanic's. You agree there is no
guarantee on a “fruitful outcome” on any services or repairs we perform for “Do
It Yourselfer” customers, as solely determined by Mechanic's. You agree there
are NO refunds allowed on any services or repairs we perform for “Do It
Yourselfer” customers, as solely determined by Mechanic's.
As outlined on Mechanic's Invoice Number 91055, the Mechanic's technician recommended putting the heating system back together again in order to continue with diagnostics as to what was causing the heater not to function properly.
The Crowes, as is the case with "Do it Yourselfer" customers, did not want to pay a dime for any additional services.
As outlined on invoice 91055, the Crowes insisted the problem was the igniter. Mechanic's was unable to verify this assertion by the Crowes without further testing. The Crowes were not happy to hear this news. The Crowes were insistent on playing "doctor" with their own furnace.
The Crowes decline any further service from Mechanic's. Upon completion of the service visit, Ms. Kelli Crowe signed Mechanic's invoice 91055 under line number 2, which states, in part, "The work outlined above has been satisfactorily completed."
Mechanic's did receive in the following email from Mrs. Kelli Crowe the same day. This is the email Mrs. Crowe claims is "polite".
I scheduled a service call for this morning. When calling, I was very specific that we had removed a part from our heating unit. I asked about prices and parts. It was clear that the igniter had been removed from our system to the person who scheduled this visit. I was also clear that I needed to know about any additional costs we may incur.
Here was Mechanic's quick Response and Mrs. Kelli Crowe's Re-response:
|
Clearly, Mrs. Kelli Crowe threatened Mechanic's with harm: "I will be happy take every opportunity to discourage my friends and neighbors both verbally and on line in the future from using your services".
Mechanic's told Mrs. Crowe the following:
|
There is no record, as evident by Mechanic's Call Center email above, that Mrs. Kelli Crowe ever told Mechanic's , "It was clear that the igniter had been removed from our system to the person who scheduled this visit.". In either case, it does not matter. Mrs. Crowe was charged a whopping $29.95 for the service call visit that was provided to the Crowes. Mrs. Crowe has decided to attack Mechanic's over $29.95.
As is the case with any professional, Mechanic's service technicians do not stand around for "free" while a "Do it Yourselfer" customer reinstalls their own parts! Nor does Mechanic's service technicians condemn a part based on a lay person's opinion.
I can only imagine the Crowes out for a nice dinner at a nice Steakhouse, and they bring their owns steaks with them to cook!
Can you image going to a doctor for a broke arm, and then asking the doctor to stand by while you set your own arm?
How about showing up to your primary care doctor to demand a referral to an oncologist because you have determined you have cancer? Outrageous!
In
this reporter's opinion, what the Crowes need to do is go to back to school,
learn the HVAC trade, and then they can fix their own equipment "free" all the
time! What the Crowes want, is someone to "stand by" and do work at the rate they can
work for - Nothing! As a professional provider of HVAC services,
Mechanic's charges professional rates for their professional services.
I wonder how many times the Crowes have tried this game?
Mrs. Kelli Crowe, in the future, please do not call a professional service company like Mechanic's, please just do your own repairs!
Mrs. Kelli, your name reminds this reporter of your posting - A bunch of "Crowe"!
